    Demonstration Video

I found this video on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kz5SNSM2jEA

I'm just wondering, do you get a McDojo sort of feeling from watching it? The demonstration doesn't really seem to show anything... it just seems like entertainment do to advertise and stuff, and people are getting thrown around like Aikido. Demonstrations should be showing moves and stuff, not how you would theoretically beat someone up which would never work right?

Then again, I guess you can't judge a school simply by what it does in demos, and neither by its younger students, but if you were good, wouldn't you want both your younger students and demonstrations to reflect that?

Little kids + black belts = very probable McDojo... but necessarily Bullshido. Just standard strip-mall martial arts fare.

Even then it doesn't mean the school is complete shite.

ok watched the video and noticed the following things: Crappy and unrealistic self defense, bad techniques, bad music, some kata, TKD style kicking in a staged fight and ofcourse boardbreaking.

I couldnt see blackbelts, the light is dodgy and the camera unsharp, for all we know they could be blue or brown, dont jump to conclusions.

Personally i don't take them seriously.

There are at least two kids with black belts in the video, the ones with black borders at the bottom of their "jackets". And this is ITF taewondo or some variant of it.

There is clearly no need to teach these kids "stranger danger". They can take candy and rides home from strangers all they want with those awesome self-defense skills.

I can't decide which my favorite part is. It's either at the beginning were the kid eats a kick from a man twice his size so he score a crappy leg sweep, or at 1:15 were the kids team up trip up their attackers in a very Home Alone-esque fashion.

Still, they're kids, they don't give a **** whether this works or not as long as it's fun... But that still is not a good reason to give black belts to small children (or do these horrible demonstrations).
