    Um... maybe i'm mistaken, but I'm fairly certain I read somewhere that Rickson does kickboxing regularly.

    i think that you deffinetly need some stand up if your doing only bjj at the moment, MT would be a good choice

    Check out the issue of Jan/Feb 2006 Budo International magazine. That's where the quote came from, there's a four page interview with Rickson.

    I myself at one point wanted to be proficient in just one style and I thought Krav Maga was it. Then I recently started getting into BJJ and am happy to say that I crosstrain both weekly. I feel that a good stand up art must be complimented by a good ground art as well. The conditioning is tough, but you only get out of it what you put into it.
