Aww... I was disappointed you didn't kick the judge in the balls. That would have been epic.

I should've kicked the judge in the balls, by luring them into an unprotected round house kick. I was young and foolish, what can I say!
I've got some mixed emotions about the next section; on one hand, I can't wait to write about how shitty it was. On the other, it was BJJ, so it won't be as hilariously useless as this. But after the BJJ section, we go right back to horrible McDojoism!

A good read. Moar.

You might want to skip the BJJ section and move on to more McDojoism. Good read.

The only thing is, it's the perfect example of a horrible, horrible BJJ school. I'll see what I can do with my writing to make it sexier.

Angry at your parents for letting you use "bad" language, or angry at the judge for being a dick?
And how do you remember all of this? Great stuff.

The idea of paying $150 to enter this style of tournament pains me. The sheer waste of time sort of boggles me. I mean, if it's like the point karate tournaments I've seen, the WINNER of a moderately-sized (12 people or so) division will only spend ~10 minutes total sparring. Half of people (in single elimination) will spend, you know, 1-3 minutes. And your form takes, what, 1-2 minutes? And for that you hang around for hours and pay whatever.

I remember it because it was pretty major for me. I'm sure I'm forgetting tons of hilarious details, but this stuff stands out in my memory. Sparring for the first time, the belt tests, the tournament and other things were pretty major for me back in the day.
For clarification, angry at the judge for being a bastard.
