    The very nature of MMA is that you become a better fighter by drilling techniques and then fighting with others with the bare minimum of rules needed to ensure the safety of the participants. This is what the media shows the masses. Even if clubs go all TKD and decide to implement point sparring and fancy wristlocks, they will die off because people who actually want to train MMA will leave, word of mouth will spread and the club will fail. Frankly, i doubt it could ever pull a TKD and turn into a pyramid scheme due to the fact that it simply isn't centralised enough; I mean there's no central core of techniques, lots of different organisations that prosper based on how popular their events are, lots of small scale competitions and throwdowns that have nothing to do with the whole. I think MMA is harder to kill than you give it credit for.
