I never get the logic of these threads, they have no relevance to anything. Are you just trying to make friends by telling us how much better you think MMA guys are at life?

I compete in MMA, I am former star wars geek. I have bachelor's in History, and i am constantly trying to compensate for my lack of personality... and small penis. Thus I thought that this goal would be best achieved by being a mediocre MMA competitor.

No, in fact the opening sentence about TMAers was a joke (i cant believe people would miss that), I just want to see what kind of crowd MMA attracts. No comparisions, just curious, I'm new to the whole scene

Actually, I'm a long-haired pseudo intellectual, currently persuing a degree in Chinese studies, and I do BJJ, as well as it's cousin, Jits With Hits.
Also, this is the MAPpiest threat I've ever seen on the MMA forum.

I was half serious actually. I do have bachelors in history, was never really a great athlete, my main sport was track and XC, got into karate in college and then decided to try and pursue MMA after i graduated. My fears of inadequecy have nothing to do with a desire to compete actually.

Semi-serious answer, competitive people. I say "semi-serious" because an attempt to generalize MMAers is quite difficult, if not impossible. The one thing in common is that all share a degree of competitiviness IMO.

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris

So, if I become a convict, I can move up in the world? If so, there's a number of fun ways I can do it.
