I think he could break top 10 at LHW, but don't see him getting the title from Chuck, Rampage, Silva, etc.

Let's see if he can make it out of the first round of the Serra fight still conscious, then we'll talk about Anderson Silva and Rampage Jackson.

Picturing a buffed up GSP against the likes of Rampage, Liddell, Shogun, and Wanderlei, he'd still look pretty small. I picture him like Henderson against Rampage, doing well technically, but not having the muscle to really pull it off against more appropriately sized opponents.

Anyone know GSP's walk-around weight? I would imagine he weighs in the vicinity of 185-190 and cuts to 170 from there. I could see him taking on Anderson Silva for the middleweight belt and doing well (Silva isn't a huge MW). But competing at light heavyweight? I don't really see that happening. I have trouble imagining him getting as big as Henderson, and even Hendo walks around just shy of 200.

Him vs Silva would be epic.
That is the thought that immediately popped into my head when I read this. I think LHW is too ambitous, though.

As much as I like GSP and think he's a great fighter, there is much truth in this statement. GSP's biggest problem, IMO, is consistency. He needs to get over his vulnerability to these kind of fluke performances* before he can seriously consider being "the most dominate MMA fighter ever".

*Much respect to Serra. He deserved that win. But it definitely was an off day for GSP.

He's said several times that he walks around at 185.

Matt W.: I'm not sure what you mean by GSP losing to those 'fluke wins'. He's lost 2 matches hasn't he? 1 against Serra and one against a very 'in form' Matt Hughes.

I don't see these 2 wins as an indicator that GSP has a problem with fluke wins from his opponents.

Guys, he's only 26 years old. He'll naturally gain some weight and muscle mass in the next 5 years. I don't think he should jump to LHW right now, but by the time he's 30, he might be naturally walking around at 205. He'd still be a bit smaller than a lot of the guys that cut hard to make that weight, but St. Pierre is a hell of an athlete and phenomenally strong for his weight. ****, right now I'd guess he's stronger than some of the guys at 205. But give him some time and he slowly gains mass with age, and will probably be much stronger. By the time he's 30 or 32, fighting at 205 will be a minimal stretch for him.
