Are they thicker then normal ones?

Reason is that in the MMA club i train at(it may close down so...)

I want to be able to hold pads with the gloves.

Um...your post makes little sense, but my advice? DO NOT BUY THEM, THEY FUCKING SUCK. Seriously, they suck, they come off your fingers all the time unless you use a whole roll of hockey tape at every class.

I think he is talking about having enough clearence to get his hands through the handles of Muay Thai style kick pads. You can do it with 4oz MMA gloves but some of the thicker gloves (like Combat Sports MMA training gloves) have too much padding over the knuckles to get your hands through. I would bag the pride style ( I mean, if you're just getting them because you like the way they look you may as well get some Bruce Lee style Kempo gloves, they're the coolest. No snickering in the peanut gallery, please) and just get something comparable to whatever your training partners are using.

I've had pairs of them and...well, almost every other design you can think of, and Pride style are my LEAST favorite.

Yep, im talking focus mitts. I got no problem using the ones at the club, but they arn't PRIDE style.
