No, he didnt call his TKD school American Combat Karate. He was a Tae Kwon Do guy commenting on how us American Combat Guys were savages and shouldnt consider ourselves martial artists. He claimed that we didnt care for the philosophy and the culture of the Asians and just like to fight. Guess what...He's right; but still an asshole. Richie Barathy, who started American Combat Karate (ACK) was a first-class martial artist who pass away in '97. Who needs this TKD jerk talking smack about him?

It sounds like he got his nose out of wack because Richard liked to wear an American Flag Gi, and do public breaking. Now, I don't like American Flag Gi's and find them a bit tasteless, but since Richard didn't claim to practice "traditional karate" I don't see it as a big deal.

Barathy did have a reputation as a real bad ass fighter, and I'm sorry they banned you off of that thread. On a 1-10 level with 10 being the high score, that would have been a 1-2 on Bullshido in terms of being a flamewar. A lot of boards are really friggen touchy. Any yes the guy you were arguing with was 'drinking the koolaid'.
