    D,

"Well , Sung System I can speak on ,"

Yue Fei - general of the southern Sung Dynasty was the founder of XY. Is this the Sung system you speak of?
Im not really COMPLETELEY SURE that I have the Line down yet , so I am afraid to say anythign Publicly .(better to keep yor mouth shut and have ppl THINK you a Fool ...) I could send you a Vid on it , but you dont seem to have any IM Proggies at all ...

My Teacher's English isnt that great , and honestly , hes more worried about telling us to "Kill Each Other" than he is telling us about History ... I honestly dont think that he has spent more than 5 min talking about it in the total time that I have been there . He just seems to think that its all Bullshit until youre Moving .

I WILL say that it includes 5 Elements , and animals but he dosent teach "All" the Animals because he (and I believe his Teacher before him) believe that 1 or 2 of them are Bullshit - just made up to make a round Number (he asks who here has ever seen a Dragon to Study Its Spirit , and things like that)

It was a Venti, Soy, Sugar-Free Vanilla Cappucino. I actually just got back from Starbucks again (I'm a coffee addict), and you were right. The coffee of the day (Yukon) was around $1.50 for a Grande.

It was the first time I've actually ordered straight coffee from that place.

    Sorry for the thread hijack.

Don't know if it was mentioned, but when it comes up that I do martial arts, the assumption tends to be that unless you're a black belt, you're not an effective fighter.

I agree. I had a family get together, and when they heard I was a white belt in BJJ, they were like, okie, well your cousin is a black in TKD.

Blue belt is looking like a very reachable goal. It's purple that I'm not even considering.

    I think it's all hype.

The GUARD has been around forever. And Kosen I believe used the guard probably as much as bjj'ers do. BUT in normal judo, the reason you don't spend a lot of time on the bottom is because you're going for the takedown. If you have superior takedowns, you're not gonna be on the bottom in the guard too much. Also, in competition style judo, the closed guard isn't used too much because you only have 15 seconds or so of nonactivity, so it's best keep it open and go for submissions and/or sweeps (unless all you want to do is stall and get stood back up). The way I figure it, I want my takedowns to be good enough that I don't have to worry about being put on my back.

    6'3", 250ish.

These days I'm an Arnis guy. Most of my hand to hand
    comes from
    1. Years of bagua, which didn't teach me to actually
fight but did give me this bad habit of leading with my
    head(!) Damn Yin guard stance!
    2. My arnis instructor is great on FMA emptyhand, cause
he's also a holy terror at this weird mongrel chinese kempo
****. (He's one of those people who does escrima with
weighted pipes and punchs a post daily)
    3. I been doing some boxing for conditioning and
general FC exposure. Strictly a beginner/cross-trainer
    there though.

So I'm probably not up to your hand2hand level
but I'll give it a go.

We play with sticks I'll hold my own fairly
    well.

Truth to tell I'm probably going to learn more from
mixing it up with you than vice versa.
let's talk about why fat-fu shall we?
