Style: BJJ--
I remember hearing about Aikido masters who could effortlessly fling their opponents left and right without using any strength at all. This sort of control took decades to master, but was truly amazing to see. Average people were powerless to control the true Aikido master.
In BJJ, instead of taking two decades to gain that sort of "effortless control", it can take as little as two years.
If Aikido trained like BJJ, then you'd have the same turn around time in gaining results.
Of course, Aikido would then cease to be Aikido, and would turn into Judo. -

For training though ya I see your point.
As for making someone tap out, you bet. But I was just as happy when someone made me tap because to me thats them learning and getting better. It didn't bug me but some of the guys were real bitches about it.
Dave remember the rules. No pop shots at me just to see if I'm awake.
You should be a suicide prevention councler, I feel super!

GS, I think the OP is your worst post ever, the ignorance and fallacies contained therein couldn't be described adequately in an epic saga, let alone one post, however, you've overcome a hurdle on the way to enlightenment. Congratulations.
I have never tapped AGAINST my will...in fact, I think I WANTED to tap ever single time I ever did, considering the alternative.

aikido and judo have a lot in common, technically, imo. just ruminate on the connection between the scissor sweep and ikkyo.
once they're supported on 3/4 of their limbs, one's from the bottom, the other's from the top.
also irimi-nage and osoto-gari.. well, any backwards judo throw, really.
kote-gaeshi and tai-otoshi/sasae-tsurikomi-ashi/forward throws...
in short, there are only so many ways to make someone fall down. :P
