Harvard university did a study which showed that Ephedra compounds are safe and effective for wt loss if used properly.
The problem is with people taking too much. Its not the only solution to wt loss but can be a userully adjuct. Its like driving a car to fast. So should we ban cars. Most of this hype is just another pretence for Attorneys to file class action lawsuits and make a lot of bucks at they expense of your personal freedom to choose.

I use an ECA (Ephedra, Caffine, White-willow bark [asprin substitute]) stacker, but only reccomended dosages, it has a FUCKING WARNING saying not to, so people get what the get if they break the dosages. It's there for a reason, any higher is DANGEROUS...oh well, It's helping me drop some much needed to drop kilo's and it's motivating me to exercise more as well. I dont think there is anything wrong with them if used the way it says...Daniel: I don't know if I know enough karate.
Miyagi: Feeling correct.
Daniel: You sure know how to make a guy feel confident.
Miyagi: You trust the quality of what you know, not quantity.

Things that are safe for some people, aren't safe for others.
Ephedra as a sports supplement has a higher than normal case of negative reactions.
Doesn't mean its dangerous for everyone.
I don't see what the big deal is though, there are some really good fat burners on the market in the US that are free of the stuff (and advertise it in big bold letters). The Wastrel - So attractive he HAS to be a woman.

Ephedrine is one of the main ingredients for crystal methamphetamine. (http://www.totse.com/en/drugs/speedy_drugs/165183.html)
It is a powerful stimulant that will probably be a controlled substance in the near future. Right wrong or indifferent.
The two big "problems" with ephedrine are the amounts people are taking and what they do right after taking it. The longer you take it the more you have to take to achieve the desired results. Most people will eventually take more than the recommended dosage. Many people will exercise right after taking it. When you combine a dramitic increase in heart rate and body temperature with extreme physical exertion then sometimes you get dead.
All things in moderation.

People can cry all they want, 5 people in the US died out of tens of millions who take it.
Thats a better ratio then some foods.
And the main reason why ephedra work isn't because it it speeds your metabolism up so fast that it just burns off fat. It's that it makes you not hungry and then you eat less you fucking tards.

.........ephedra is a controversial stimulant linked to death, heart attacks, strokes, seizures, and many other adverse ephedrine side effects. There are now 100 reported deaths from ephedrine products and safety reviews in the U.S. have been ordered to assess the dangers. The FDA has been unable to regulate ephedra products because of the 1994 federal law allowing the stimulant to be exempted from federal regulation due to its classification as a food.
A medical examiner announced Tuesday that Baltimore Orioles pitcher Steve Bechler, who died Monday after collapsing during a spring training workout, was taking the dietary supplement Xenadrine, which contains the herb Ephedra. Ephedra has been linked to heatstroke and heart trouble in numerous cases.
Ephedra use is banned by the International Olympic Committee, the NFL and the NCAA, but not yet by Major League Baseball. Yet if this herb is so dangerous, why would anyone consider taking it?
The negative effects of ephedrine are well-described. They include abnormal heartbeats, hypertension, stroke and heart attack due to constriction of coronary arteries. Ephedrine has been associated with heart muscle damage in several medical case reports. This is likely due to overstimulation of the heart muscle cells, a phenomenon that was discovered with adrenalin years ago. Heart attacks, strokes and sudden death have been found in people taking ephedrine.

Yeah, I used to take Ripped Fuel and Stacker II's all the time, they were great, curbed appetite and really just gave you some extra juice. I wasn't trying to cut weight, I usually would take them to stay up and study, but they also made you sweat a lot. I definitely felt more energetic and motivated when I was working out or rolling, too. Loved those little guys. When I heard they were taking them off the market I went and bought a whole **** ton at the local GMC. Lasted me a couple more years. Alas, they are no more. You can still get Ephedrine in expectorants, but it's not the same. I miss Ripped Fuel.
However, I would take one, just one. I knew guys that were taking like six, and then taking more later. I can see how this could lead to some health problems. Everything in moderation. If you take six times the recommended dose for anything, you're stupid.
Oh, and they were great for late night beer guzzling. Drinking a little slow, one too many blunts maybe? Pop a Ripped Fuel. Sets you straight.
This thread is making me nostalgic.
