Idk... what if I answer yes? And how wet is the paper bag? Then again the other possibility is that I could be wrong.

We have a school of his in the town I live in. It's been there forever, but I don't know any one from that studio, so I couldn't tell you if it's good or not. I will probably assume no, for simplicity.

god my parents made me take classes at one of these places when i was little, it was not good, i have some weird stories and **** about it, suffice it to say its a daycare system for kids with lots of bday parties. we had a weird curtain covering the mat area so parents couldn't actually see what we were doing, and of course the material is useless. I had to take a year off from martial arts after going there since it was such a bleh experience

Well I was a 12-14 when I went there, I didn't get back into Martial Arts until last year (I'm 37 now), & I did not retain much of what I was taught. I do remember the wrist grab defenses, and we all know how useful those are these days.

We point spared with the other students, but we did do hard sparring with the instructor.

I do remember the higher rank adult classes sparring and seeing blood.

My old instructor now has his own style of Kenpo, this is his website here; http://www.dallaskenpo.com/

In his bio it says that he has trained with Carlos Machado in BJJ, though no rank is given (that I saw).

There are a lot of versions of “Kempo” or “Kenpo” around.
Kempo is basically basic Karate stances and strikes with Jujitsu / Aikido wrist, arm throwing and ground techniques, and also some Chinese 5 Animal style mixed in.
Origins point to the same place Karate was born, Okinawa.

“That’s it” no fancy ‘twin daggers’or other techniques like they use
out in Mid to Western U.S Kempo scools.

Villari and a bunch of others, broke away from the original Kenpo style and added there own techniques to it.
I can vouch for Villari.. I will not say how I know.. but he does know how to fight.
I do not like, how he and others have made Kempo / Kenpo into a chain of fool schools.

People believe that they know “authentic” Kenpo, afterlearining it from one of these chain schools, or one of these guys that claim “I know the real Kenpo style of James Mitose”, again wrong… Mitose learned “some” Kenpo in the U.S. It still did not originate from here. I am one of the few people that know the truth.
And what “real” Kenpo is all about, having studied it for over 20 years now.

I can also vouch for Kenpo as a true fighting system. I have used it in self-defense.
If you do not think Kempo / Kenpo is effective.. look at Chuck Liddell..
seems like Kempo a pretty good base for MMA, Hmmm? :5wow:

We've heard the Liddell/Kempo example a million and one times. Chuck Liddell is to Kempo like Jesus is to Judaism. Get it through your head.
