So the UFC is real fighting badasses? What are the rules again for "no-holds barred" UFC fighting?

Oh dear, he got his balls pinched. Stop the fight!

I know, right?! It sucks that they just blacklist all the hardworking TMAist who spend countless hours training T3H D34DLY groin kick.

NEWSFLASH!!! Anyone can throw a kick to the balls, and anyone with testicles has at least some instinctive ability to protect them.

Because kicking to the groin is no more a display of martial prowess than biting is. Even before it was banned, people didn't do it. Why? Because fighters would rather, y'know, outfight their opponent than kick their junk. In fact, the reason it wasn't banned from the getgo was probably just to keep people from saying stuff like, "Eh, if (insert name of pro fighter) tried to hit me, I'd just kick him in the nuts."

Go watch vale tudo. Groin kicking, etc is allowed, and MMA fighters do FAR better than TMA ones.

Exactly. Early UFCs were just vale tudo in a cage, and people called it "human cockfighting." Restricting things like ball kicks has steered it toward more widespread societal acceptance.

    This.
Before White bought the UFC it was not a money making enterprise. In order to gain legitmacy and univeral appeal (and don't forget $$$) they needed to change the rules.

    BTW . . .
I'm actually the dumb fucking nub that started this whole thread. At first lots of people were accusing me of being a secret Fred Villari student and having a hidden agenda.
Partially true. I guess I did have a hidden agenda, I think the guy is a total ass and the father of the modern McDojo. But I was really surprised when someone who's opinion I greatly, greatly respect said a bunch of good stuff about him.

Marketability, and legal woes. Idiotic politicians were hell bent on banning the sport. A lot of things we all feel should be legal were banned in order to salvage the sport in the land of litigation known as the US of A.

BTW your Kempo sucks, you suck, and I'll be willing to bet a 20 spot that anybody with at least 3 solid months of serious kickboxing/Muay Thai training would outstrike not only your sack, but your instructors nutsack before you could say "Combination 7!"
