Top Contender Heavy Hitter Body Protector

I purchased this product looking for good protection for my ribs and stomach because I often train much larger people. I recieved this product in a large box from Ringside and noticed that this is a fairly large pad. I found that this kept my chest and stomach protected by was hard to move. The padding was thick and a little heavy but it gave me exactly was I was looking for; a lot of protection while being kneed and punched in the chest and stomach. After a few sessions of sparring I have noticed that on several corners of the padding the stitching is starting to come out, even though the leather on the pad itself has held up quite well. The straps on the back are easy to connect and are very sturdy and the brackets to tighten the pad to the chest do not slip which is another pro. All in all this is a good pad for someone looking for good protection for a cheaper price, but if you are looking for something more sturdy try a windy or Fairtex pad.

Poor Stitching
Bulky/Heavy
Limits Mobility

I love Top Contender gloves because they are cheap, but just like the pads, the stitching sucks!

Maybe you need to find smaller sparingpartners...

Found 3 other "pads"... But how fun is it to spar with them? Maby fun to watch but not to use :toothy5:

I have the Top Contender Heavy Hitter Body Protector and I Love it. Its not for sparring, its for coaching. Let it take place of a belly pad. Train knees, push kicks, and body shots. That way you can focus on using the focus mitts/thai pads just for upper body strikes. One of my favorite things to drill (with it) is- full on clinched knees. You can barely feel it, and it lets the person throwing them practice will aliveness.

I have ALSO noticed that on several corners of the padding the stitching is starting to come out. Its a small problem, but they still feel vary sturdy. Another good thing about the Top Contender Heavy Hitter Body Protector is that it will fit on a big mother fucking dude, I know because I am one.
