i like the cleaning your opponent off part. good sportsmanship.
also, having to grab the shorts is interesting. grabbing the belt/pants is certainly an option in a lot of grappling styles, judo included, but to be obligated to do so is different.
as for the self-defense applications of schwingen.. if someone's not wearing some kind of pants when they attack you, in that case you might as well get a good grip on the next available handle..

I wouldn't laugh, I've seen belt-wrestling in Russia and those m*f'ers are rugged! Watching a 300# dude body-lock throw another 300# dude is impressive. -
