Like many monkeys on this board, I also have problems gaining muscle. I'm 5"11 136lb. I've been reading the endless "gaining weight" threads, and everyone's just going on huge shakes and lifting regimes. I'm currently 18, going to school full-time and basically working full time to stay alive and fed. I have no more time for training, and it kills me everyday. I am taking a year off school after this semester to train and actually make something out of myself.
I am thinking of just fucking huge kcal diets and basically waiting for my body to mellow out and gain some crap. I don't have any skinny people in my family. My Dad was a big Greco-Roman wrestler in highschool, and his Dad an even bigger Greco-Roman coach dude.
Is this something solid to rely on? My question is, how many MMA fighters today had the same problem as me? I know Jay Hieron was a 105lb **** wrestling throughout high school, and now he's in welter. But then there guys like GSP who were badass heavy athletes, kicking ass at 16.
Any other guys who come to mind? Not looking for advice on gaining weight.

Well, you'll clearly have the reach advantage in your weight category, so why rush putting on weight? Train more Muay Thai and put those lanky limbs to good use.

From pictures, manny gamburyan looked pretty skinny before.

after taking up milk(yay dairy pills) and lifting again after about 8 years after hs, I've put on 14 lbs or so just this year. Some of it is fat, but ive never been able to keep fat on before. Guessing my metabolism is slowing.
