The *ONE* stupidest thing you ever believed about martial arts!
For me it was:
When I was a kid, I thought that different stances were better suited to different things, i.e. Cat Stance was teh uber fast and Horse Stance was nigh unmovable!

Hey, man, it takes about 65 minutes of film before the hero even learns the final finishing move, let alone use it to avenge his father/brother/master.
