    From Soldier of Fortune magazine
Wanted: Small group of like-minded people to overthrow central African government and repell loyalists after the coup. Must provide own uniform, or matching berets at the very minumum.

All you really have to do is sit in a tavern and wait for the Mysterious Stranger. Upon receiving commissions from the king/baron/duke/whatever to perform acts unsuitable to the soldiers of the realm, the first thing all Mysterious Strangers do is begin trolling local drinking establishments looking for able-bodied warriors, rogues, clerics, and mages. So sit down, look tough, and be on the lookout for hooded figures drinking alone. If all else fails, at least you'll get drunk.

    (it's a wonder I ever got laid)

Or you could try your luck with these guys http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_Foreign_Legion

HAHAHA this reminds me of this thing i saw on courttv the other day, this guy hired a killer[cop] to kill his wife, maybe rape her afterwards if the killer felt like it,

and the real buzzer beater is that he wanted the killer to do it for around 7 bucks!

the cops said that the way people look for killers is that they ask around, the people they know, and then those people that they asked get worried and call the cops, the cops come in and pretend to be it, and set up a sting for the guys

Do bodyguards and Bounty Hunters count as Mercs?

I never really looked really far into this stuff, but they sure do seem to have interesting lives.

In all seriousness, tier 1 contractors are all SF, tier 2 are the likes of airborne, marine forces et-al and tier 3 are all other regiments/units. There are several reputable companies who offer civil based security solutions within military environments.
