Ok you bully apes. I gotta remind you that new year is around the corner.
And you know what means? It means 'new year sales', discounts. If you are running with old shoes, you better use this time to get a pair of new ones at discount.
I got a pair of New Balance 8507 running shoes at discount - they are freaking sweet. My g/f also got a new pair for a ridiculously 50% off.
Go to your local sports store and get your shoes (and a foam roller for your shins and IT band) right now. You can save a shitload of $$$ if you shop smart during these holidays.
I hate running, but now that I got my new pair of shoes, I'm gonna like it... specially since I got them at discount.
Do yourself (and your budget) a favor and get your new shoes (and whatever other gear) NOW or just after the 1st.

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris

hehehe. Working at a Fleet Feet part time means I always get the sale shoe.. and wholesale! Lots of new products out there for the IT band as well, they are far more expensive then the ol'foam roller but can hit alot of different areas. Alot of the shoe brands this year have new models coming out in 08 wich makes this particualr month even better then most years for shoe sales. New Mizuno's , Brooks, and NB all come out in Jan. so everyones trying to get rid of the old ones. Good luck finding your size though.

Good idea Macho. I'll get a new pair of shoes the 2nd. I think pretty much everything is closed tomorrow.
IT band. What is it.

Good idea, Macho.
I bought these Asics a year back. Not bad @ @AU$140. (Not bad for me, anyway.)
But because I'm a lazy twat, I often took them off with the laces still done up. Result: the back heel has worn away, and the plastic digs into my foot.

Your problem isn't taking them off with the laces tied up, it's not knowing how to take them off/put them on with the laces tied up.
I haven't tied my shoes in months. And I have been doing this for years, with various pairs of shoes. It doesn't work with any type of "boot" shoe, obviously, only with running-type shoes.

Well, go on then smartypants.

It's not something you can teach. You just need more practice, is all.
PRO TIP: don't tie the laces too tight. You want them comfortable, not tight. I've never had my shoe fly off or make me slip because it was on too loose.

Running in loose shoes is Satanic and you are a minion of the Dark One.

I haven't heard of Fleet Feet, does anyone have any recommendations regarding (if you're heard of it) Running Room? I thought about going because I got a free coupon for one of their t-shirts in my cereal box.
