BBC show: Mind, Body and Kickin' Moves

I just watched 2 episodes of this show back to back, and I'm....dumbfounded. Has anyone else caught this? It's on BBC 3 in the UK and FSN in the US.

It's essentially a 1/2 hour Human Weapon produced by the BBC, with some fellow named Chris Crudelli. It seems to focus on martial arts ties to the entertainment industry. As I type this, he's at a TKD gym in the Philippines frequented by actors.

'Applying wing tsun principles will make you the AK-47 of punching." He said it out loud. Of ccourse, before that Leung Ting said "In wing tsun I would not recommend you do any weightlifting."

    Awesome.

Is the documentary still running? I remember it being on a year or so ago.

He appears to have done several similar shows - this one is half-hour episodes.

I watched 4 minutes on the same sort of crappy-ass Okinawan karate I started out doing. It hurt my head.

    That's a really old show that's being re-run.

It's an advert for TMA that focuses on bullshido like iron palm, the awesomeness of the chun, no-touch knockouts and chi.

It's comedic gold. You can just imagine that thousands of teenagers, having watched the show, have decided to save up to go and train with Hatsumi to learn the deadly art of ninjitsu.

Yeah i especially laughed at the ninjitsu episode. Apparently cards being thrown and floating in front of your face should be enough to make you turn around and cower in fear. I'm pretty sure the other episodes are equally crap. (Cept for the iron penis one)

The ninjitsu episode is amazing. The presenter is a total dick, can't decide who he wants to be; Ricky Gervais or David Blaine?

Sadly, people will watch the shows and believe everything which is said.

It does focus primarily on TMA, but I found it quite interesting as a teen. The ninjutsu episode was filled with lulz, though. I think the gun-fu part (grab wrist, twisty-arm to point gun at attacker, squeeze trigger finger) was purely a case of having a lame attack-zombie, though it's a while since I saw it. The training was interesting, though.

I never saw the chun one, maybe they're doing new episodes?

I like the show. Chris has a fair approach of letting the viewer decide whether to believe what they see or not. There was one where he called bullshit on a Kalikapata- (that indian MA that is older than Kung Fu) and basically said the guy was teaching wushu. Also there was an episode where the filmed an guy who nearly hacked his own arm off attempting to do Iron body with a sword. So yeah, give the guy a break, he makes entertaining TV and let's the viewer decide, also he has got in and sparred on few episodes.

Pekiti Tirsia segment almost made me put my foot through the screen. From a promising start with Filipino Special Forces itīs all downhill. Yep, BLACK MAJICK AND V00D00Z! T3H D34DL33!
