theres nothing more i hate in TKD than "indomitable spirit"
the rest of the 5 to 10 or whatever rules were pretty stupid as well. I guess it's fine for kids but for adults if you haven't learned what courtesy is, chances are you don't give a **** and never will. Why bother wasting training time or even brain power on it... -

They are, but as a grown man, I don't want to spend classtime on it. I'm shelling out money to learn to fight more effectively....I shake hands after class..and bow to teh teacher..that's about it for the extra-curricular. We're busy training the rest of the time...and talking is discouraged while we do so...in a general sense...it's time to train.

This is from a post I made awhile back in the Styles Forums in a thread about "TKD Martial Arts Values"
I would like to propose some new tenets for TKD
1. Respect those who have earned it
2. Earn Respect, don't demand it
3. Cardio/Stamina is your friend
4. Keep your hands up at all times
5. Train Hard, train realistically, train often."
These at least should be the tenets observed in an Adults only class. Let the kids keep the ones regarding proper moral behavior. -
and humble, too!
