Yeah, the first version was called "Way of the Warrior" first shown on BBC in the 1980s, this one also produced a book. This clip was my favorite part:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9HR7TTOReE

Then there was a french version translated into English on the History Channel called "Deadly Arts" with host Josette Normandeau. She wrote a book as well, in french only.

It is especially interesting that these shows only seem to be able to find the same guys to talk to. Find the Karate episode from "Way of the Warrior" and the Karate episode from "Human Weapon" and you will see the same Karate Master.

I am sure there are more.

Perhaps those particular masters are of note or are the only well known gaijin friendly ones they can find.

Japanese can tend to be xenophobic at times.
I think I even have a picture of a japanese sign at a bar specifying

"No foreigners or filipinos allowed unless with japanese guest"

Show looks good. Too bad Human Weapon beat them to the punch.

By all that is holy, why would you do that to me? Do you hate me for some reason? Have I offended you at some point in our past? Yeah, not so proud of that one, but according to the submission guidelines, they just wanted a waist up shot, no bruce lee yelping and no "moves". So me, just riffing about my various thoughts. Eh.
