    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    san shou/bjj or boxing/judo?

Which would you see as the more beneficial of these two cross training possibilities for sport and for self defense: san shou/bjj or boxing/judo?

Training 5x a week with ground game sounds better than 4x a week without it.

Guess I see your point Domite. Ground game is a bit more cerebral than striking sometimes. But then again the "sweet science" of boxing can be very chess-like too. Thanks for your input bro.

No problem. For future reference, a thread like this would be better suited in YMAS or Newbietown.

with more mma fighters choosing to strike more I could see a lot of room for Sanda type take downs.

I prefer the Sanda/BJJ combination. Good groundfighting, good standup, and good clinchwork. You should be set with this. With boxing/judo, you won't use the legs and your ground game won't be as developed as with BJJ.

I would say sanshou/bjj you are set - you have judo like throws from shuai jiao, joint locks of both qin na and jujitsu, and kung fu striking mixed with kickboxing, and then ground science

    San Da and BJJ, definitely.
    a) Working takedowns in both of you classes, instead of just one.
    b) **** boxing. Kicking is fun.

    What he said.

Boxing and Judo = punches, clinches, throws...for the most part. (which is good)

Sanda and BJJ = punches, kicks, elbows, knees, clinches throws ground fighting/submissions. (which is even "gooder") IMHO :icon_mrgr
