You forgot the boxing. Site nut hugs boxing a little. To be honest when I first found this site I had basically the same reaction...What a bunch of grappling loving nuthugers. It seemed every thread talking about real fighting would just degenerate into go learn bjj and or muay thai and little respect was given to any other MA. I eventually understood that grappling is an integral part of being a complete and balanced fighter. Muay Thai and western boxing have generally considered the best striking methods which are easier to learn comparatively but take time to cultivate and hone to be most effective. Just deal with the fact that you want to be a martial artist, doing forms and point sparring and this site is geared towards martial fighters. People who want actual blood sweat and tears combat and are trying to help other people looking for the same.

actually... not to put " muay thai, bjj, and judo, ..... boxing and wrestling" down, but i liked mma better when ufc had one fat guy fighting some skinnier karate dude or something.
