We have moved again!, but only next door. Expanding mat space by 50% and large male and female changing rooms. Equipment shop has also expanded, selling a range of gi's, rashguards, nutrition, gracie mag, kneepads etc.

Training is from monday to saturday which is comprised of BJJ, MMA, and Muay Thai.

At ARBJJ we have often hosted world and European champions including: Roger Gracie, Mauricio Gomez, Lucio Rodrigues (Lagarto), Jude Samuel, Nicolas Gregoriades, Nick Brooks. Recently we have also been running workshops focusing on MMA, Boxing and sport psychology with a wrestling seminar currently in the works.

With our current MMA success with fighters such as Nick Chapman we have been fortunate to have been featured on Sky sports and bravo.

So new stuff and summary of the new academy:

Andy is a great instructer with an enthusiastic attitude, he goes through all the moves multiple times and really makes sure we understand them. He offers practical advise and shows how to compensate for different opponents and situations. Andy does not just instruct how to do his game but focuses on encompassing all fundamentals. Andy is flexable and any new comers are given no pressure to buy a gi and can train no gi.

Since the early days we have since added Purple and blue belt assistant instructors, so that everyone is given personal feedback and attention as well as insuring a class is never cancelled if Andy cannot be there.

Another plus is Andy's affiliation with Roger Gracie and other world champions inside and outside of the UK. The UFC also currently employ Andy as a judge for events in Europe and as far as Abu Dhabi.

Andy is planning alot of advancements this year but is currently being secretive. One thing he has revealed is that in addition to roger coming down, friggin Mauricio Gomes is also gonna give us a lesson!.

New mats have been provided for the Guildford session for extra room. Andy has also added a forum to his web page for members to use in order to share information, socialise and ask questions. Andy is also using this as a way of getting feedback so he can make changes and additions where needed. Gary "the smiler" Turner (professional mma fighter [beat tank abbot]) is also going to be doing some training with us. The club is continuing to grow steadily with new faces turning up almost every week. A blue belt is regularly training with the club which helps. Andy is also setting up a training session with one of the UK's first BJJ blackbelts, in the near future.

Andy is actively seeking a permanent venue which would allow lessons 5 times a week (minimum) and a host of other options. But this would remain in the surrey area.

We have just expanded our mat space by 30% and now train tuesday, wednesday, thurs (thai), friday and saturday (thai and bjj) - Check the website for specific times. Some of the senior students are also now helping out with the beginner classes, so that everyone gets attention and gets any help they may ask for.

Yeah was good fun!. I got raped in my first fight but was fun. The other guys did really well. The grab and pull is how I would like all comps to be.

We have moved again! but only to next door. So much much bigger. MMA team is doing very well and we are training 6 days a week. I joined the club pretty early on when we were in a tiny school storage room and we have been growing relentlessly ever since. Andy is a full time dedicated instructor, BJJ literally is his life.
