I will try. It is really not so much vanity as much as not fully understanding. My head logically understands all of the arguments, but then I think "Hey, I was doing 8-10 exercises before, can I really afford to cut them all out?". I know it is stupid, but when I am in the gym and see everyone else doing 50 exercises I feel like I should to. And trust me, I hate the gym. Going to the gym is like the way I have been working on improving my diet...not because I want to but because I have to.
I will cut out all of the assistance work this week (except pull ups and dips). Then maybe I will have more time for core development.
Thanks again. There is no cheating, there is only jiu-jitsu. -

That is excellent! the grippage.com rhanks Emevas.
I am like 40 years old in the last year realized how important hands and feet are. I started studing even more about how to build grip in my hands. It is more than I orginally thought.
Most of what I had studied before did not include good excersies. They usually invole learning how the tendons in the had need stretched. -

Thanks. Seriously, hearing this helps alot. I see alot of things which I know are bad in the gym.People in the gym make no progress, injure themselves, and are retards. Why aspire to be like them?
I tried very hard to have correct form on my military press and deadlift this morning and was nowhere near close to reaching my 5x5. So I think I have to back off some weight until I get the form down better. That Starting Strength has really helped. I also am working to learn how to do the power clean in order to get the bar up for the military press. Since the weight is alot lighter than someone who normally does cleans, I think it is a good way to learn without the added stress of another lift.
I will look into the other books. I was doing the squats and deadlifts like leg presses. Once I tried to put more weight on my heels everything was crazy.(Well I also have inflexible ankle probs)...thanks yet again. There is no cheating, there is only jiu-jitsu.
