    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    Work with the brute noob?

There's a typical new(er) guy at our school who is big and comes to class a lot. Problem is that he does techniques for the most part with brute strength and when it comes to our striking art, he just does street-style punches and blocks that we don't have.
Now.. this could be a good training opportunity to practice against more realistic attacks, or a chance to get hurt (again). I had a major injury from this guy that put me out for a few months already. Last night, we were pretty much wailing on each other unlike anyone else in class and we actually punched each others' fists-this morning I have a bit of a sore finger.
I don't mind a few bumps and bruises, but I also don't want to be out of work bc this guy is just streetfighting in class.
Avoid him to avoid injury, or train with him anyway and force myseld to get that much better?

you should curl up in the fetal position in the corner you *****.

or you could just ask the guy to back off a little.

Part of my deal is that I'm a senior student, and I'm there to learn the art we're being taught, not just wail on a bag with sloppy crap that I came up with on my own.

There are two ways of dealing with this.

    1) Tell the asshole to back down and stop wailing on people.

    2) Knock him the **** out.

How did he hurt me? Did a technique with brute strength and no control. Put me outta commission for about 3 months. Good thing I have a desk job now-I never would have been able to work my old medic job like that!

    Tell him to calm down.
Choke him out if he doesn't.
    Repeat.

That should bring some interesting looks from the sensei!
This guy did some crappy blocks last night, and I asked him " is that a block we do?" hoping he'd get the hint. He just said "it's one I do."
Why not just go out in the street and crap fight with a friend then? Why are you in a dojo?
