Resident Evil 5 Knife

Ok so I've been spending more time in this forum for a while so I figured I'd add something else to the cause. Check out the 2:05 minute mark in the Resident Evil 5 trailer:

    <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILuP43jcaXw name="wmode" value="transparent"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILuP43jcaXw type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355">

Also, see the attached bitmap file. Basically, I'm just curious if anyone recognizes this knife from the handle. I know it's not much to go on but I figured I'd ask anyway. It seems to be pretty big, possibly a jungle knife. Although it's in a video game, they usually base the weapon off of an item in real life. Anyways, I'm also going to email the developers and see if there was something specifically they used as a model for this knife. Figured I'd ask to see if anyone else was curious about this as I was.

    It's most likely a machete.

That's my guest as well. Although I've yet to see that handle design with a machete. Seems that it may be one of those "jungle knife" machete/knife combos. I think I will hit up the Capcom forums also. I'm sure I'm not the only Resident Evil nut who was curious about this.

I'm still sore at Capcom for not allowing the chainsaw as a useable weapon in RE 4...and am I seeing this correctly? This game will be about a white ex cop who travels to Africa and completely massacres entire villages of African people?

Yeah, the backlash on that is already happening. Then again, no one complained about a white ex cop going to Europe and then completely massacres entire villages of Spanish-Euro trash.

Yeah, it would have been nice to use the chainsaw in the game. But they were kind enough to put out the Gamecube chainsaw controller:

Didn't Redfield have some wicked-looking-yet-ineffectual pig-sticker in the first one too?

    i never used it.

Actually, there was some controversy over Resident Evil 4. However, it was no where near the kind of reactions seen so far over Resident Evil 5. The funny thing is that no one had a problem with it, let alone see it as being racist until someone wrote in their blog about how they were offended by it.

I'm fairly convinced that Chris Redfield's knife is a machete:

That's usually the way it goes. I'm a black guy and I didn't find it offensive. Hell, I find media set in Africa that DON'T show black people to be more offensive.

    Stargate: The Movie anyone!?

I'm thinking it as well, but not one of the longer ones, more like a 12 inch or slightly longer. That is, unless Chris Redfield is now some 7+ food Tyrant hybrid...but we'll save that one for the video game speculation forum...lol! I wish the fotage showed the blade though, I'm very curious about it. Gain, I haven't seen that type of tang/handle style in a machete before, anyone else have?
