2 year contract where I have to move 50 miles away in order to negate. How's that?

It also validates my hatred of the martial art.

A freind of mine was also trapped in a 2 yr deal with ATA. I sent him to another associate who is also a doctor.

He basiclly wrote him note stating that for medical reasons that he cannot train in TKD.

ATA looked at the liability side and said srew it.

Yes, but unless my doctor signs something that says for the rest of my life, I will be unable to train in martial arts (i.e. Quadraplegic) I am still looped in. I'll just move. I'm going to Pensicola during spring break, and that's when I will no longer belong to this little McDojo.

How are you still looped in?

They give me back the missed months at the end of my contract.

Or if it's long enough, freeze it.

Maybe, but I'm not gay, so it might be a slight challenge.

I will say that based on what I see online and by visiting several dojangs, a bunch of schools, maybe even the majority in the US, don't offer anything worthwhile even in the sporting aspect of taekwondo. It's certainly not a "fighting art" judging by the way it's marketed and instructed in many schools. That, however, doesn't mean it can't be a good fighting art, it all depends on who your instructor is and how you train. Anyway I'm pretty sure there's at least one thread somewhere discussing this issue at considerable length...
Hell yeah even ufc/mma are sports not street brawls. because I have never seen a fish hook or a bite happen once in mma,I've only been bitten once in afight and it hurt like 3 kinds of hell. Also there are no eye gouges in mma.
I guess my point is the street vs sport debate is ludicrous because in a street fight it's the meanest and toughest guy who wins despite training and conditioning.:copdance::qright2:ps. by the by yes I did lose that fight
