I've read the thread. One guy mentioned Keysi as an example of a heavily hyped MA that was likely to inspire imitators, then "pakuabp1" said "You cant stop the fakes, the wannabies. Every art has that. Every art has people who duplicate it. No one is immune to that. Its a price for survival. Keysi is coming to the US strong, in Movies, etc. That could be a elder showing whats up, giving value, giving something for black people to see. I dont get it the world is moving and leaving us behind, while we battle over knowledge". Are you reading that as a claim that KFM, FMA and Silat were copied from the 52 Blocks?

As you can see the non-whites are being taught as we speak watch the video again. As Jay-z says Big Pimpin

Maybe i was reading fast. but it seemed to me from those two posts that they were attributing Keysi Fighting method to ripping off the 52 blocks.

then again their poor command of the english language makes it difficult to ascertain anything for sure.

Consequently the Keysi Fighting Method is repackaged Silat / Empty Hand Filipino Martial Arts which have verifiable historical roots that go back couple hundred years.

but shows hits in google under IFC.

I see a bunch of logical fallacies.

"You won't understand if you haven't served hard time"

"52 is just boxing" sounds like "Wing Chun is just boxing"

"We gave you hip hop. it took you 10 years to understand it. It'll take 20 years for you to understand 52"

and a bunch of other stupid afro-centric ridiculousness.

I think you were reading too fast; IMO "tukalor" was saying that Keysi is over-hyped (as a warning that the same could happen to the 52 Blocks) and "pakuabp1" agreed with him before seguing (confusingly) into the suggestion that an "elder" could be showing the art for the right reasons, to inspire people etc. and then seguing again into saying that they (52 practitioners) are in danger of being "left behind" if they start bickering amongst themselves.

Pakuabp1 gets no credit for clear communication, but he wasn't claiming that Keysi, FMA or Silat were copied from the 52s.

Aside from that, Daniel Marks (who posted the clip and is active in the thread as FarisiDaniel) is well known as an authority on the 52 Blocks; many of the others are just random, anonymous YouTube posters, and their comments don't represent anything more than that.

Have you seen the clip in which Rashad Evans was talking about the 52s? Note, he doesn't say that he practices the 52 Blocks, just that he did a seminar with Daniel Marks and that he likes it - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LMl-B8pNOmo

Personally I'll wait to see what happens with 52 stylists in MMA. I don't see much in that style that wouldn't be legal in the octagon and some of these guys are obviously in condition for it.

I agree with you on the wait and see attitude.
given how little of "52" you actually see in any of these clips.
it seems to be more or less just a stylized dirty boxing system.

still with all the claims and everything behind it. it all feels like red flags.

and yeah. I guess I did jump the gun misreading those posts like that.
That's a fuckup on my part.

but if they can get down, do well and bang it out.
    then they deserve props.

Does anybody have an address to the 52 blocks gym? I want to send them a children's abridged book on anatomy with the important parts that they keep missing written in Crayon.
