Dino! That video was embedded on his website last time i looked. It was a judo guy.

I can't verify this, but i'd heard, he'd done an editing job on it. I think this is also mentioned in the Mega thread.
Apparently, after bloodying the guy's nose with a left, the match was re-started. Genge was thrown, the other guy got rear mount. Genge, at this point, suggested they stop the match because his opponent's nose was bleeding profusely.

...Read into that what you will...

Yeah - some of it does lack a certain realism - kind of ironic considering the applications that Systema is commonly used for.
I am looking for something that will provide a training system that is based on real life attacks and environments - but this video well....
Doesn't really show it in the most positive light does it?
On the slight plus side, at least they show (all be it a little slowly - hopefully just for demo reasons) that Knife attacks aren't really best defended against by wrist locks... avoidance of the attack, restraining the whole arm ASAP and dropping the attacker ASAP are a little more practical than risky wristy twisty nonsense that seem to be a little bit too prevailing in many R34L L1F3 self defense work I have seen videos of.

Having said that, there is much here that still looks a little dodgy to be of any seriously use in some of the situations as shown in the vid.

There's a lot about that video that smacks of dodgy to me.

I'm not sure Mr Genge is still teaching at the moment...

Not to mention all the students have the worst looking footwork... sometimes between a duckwalk and "i just crapped a big load into my pants"... a lot of the time I think they are going to wipe out before the exchange even starts.

tie your shoes, wear a diaper, whatever it takes.

Err..... i'd love to see you try and explain that one to SFGOON face to face!!

That is one experiment I would NOT want to miss!!

I think you're working under a bit of a misconception about Systema. I think it was Omega (And if it wasn't, i'd like him not to kill me for taking his name in vain!!) who first stated that Systema is more of a training methodology, than an actual Martial Art.
My point is that those people who enter the System, without a solid grounding in another Art, are the one's who tend to end up looking like 'Faggots' as you so eloqently put it...

The exception to that rule, i would imagine, is if you went to a good Systema school (Toronto, Vasiliev's school) and lived and breathed Systema.
Trained 5 days a week, at least!!
    That sort of thing...

I'll admit while I'm not a believer in Systema, there is a certain appeal to it. A year or so ago I took a single class at SFGOON's school... wasn't enough to judge it, but I had a good time. I'd tackle a Vasiliev seminar if I had the chance. And I would make sure to get video footage of me acting completely nonchalant.
