Style: karate and jujutsu
Spare yourself the potential agony and skip the squats. Unless your form is absolutely perfect (not even a millimeter off) no matter how tired you get you are running the risk of making your injury worse.
My back injury is nowhere near what yours is. I was doing squats and did some with less than perfect form. The resulting muscle spasm jerked a vertebra out of place.

Fucking ouch dude. Yeah, I think I'll leave the non-bodyweight squats alone.
You can't make people smarter. You can expose them to information, but your responsibility stops there.
