I am actually doing an inefectual art; Matayoshi Kobudo.

No use in the real world, and I'm sure countless years of not being tested would have have made it all but obsolete by now, but I enjoy it.

Fore arm strikes to trees, chest and stomach conditioning with a heavy iron mallet thingy, leg hardening by kicking trees and taking staff strikes. Also you learn to do flippy kicks. And come on, if you can learn to do flippy kicks and not be a Tae Kwon Douche bag thats a defiantly a plus.
If I get to have a cool looking David-Carradine-style saffron robe I'm in!

I think they give them out to their students. You get kung-fu shoes, an orange uniform thingy, and a white undershirt. Pretty snazzy. Not sure of the pricing though. But come on, you can do flippy kicks and break boulders with your hands (eventually). Awseome.

Free Running is the non-martial art that I am getting in shape for. Not only is it cool, but I imagine that one needs to have some crazy full-body strength to pull off a lot of it. Barring that, capoera.

That's freakin amazing! We have a couple of instructors at our TKD dojo that do Parkour, they are by far in the best condition of anyone in our school! Thanks for the link to American Parkour, good training stuff there!
