Lead Foot Round House feels all wrong

Throwing a round house with my lead leg feels all wrong. Granted I have only been training for 2 weeks so I am sure it'll get better with time.

neways instructor is telling me to take a half step out with my rear leg then throw the kick. On its own I have no problem but when I do it in a combination it feels all wrong. It just seems so slow and telegraphed that way. Is there something I am going to learn later that will make this better or am I just not getting it?

    all thoughts appreciated

From your explanation, your instructor seems to be teaching proper lead inside leg kicks. If you just snapped them out there without taking the step they wouldn't have much power at all. Keep working on it... every time you train the strike you get 1% better.

Feel free to ignore the other two posters who offered good advice and concentrate on Alex' STFU NOOB.
That way, you can feel hard done by and write about it in your blog :-)

BTW Alex' "advice" was pretty spot on. Most techniques will feel ungainly and spastic after just a few weeks of training. The more you train, the more natural these things will feel.
Unless it's wing chun. That's designed for ungainly spastics.

If it's when you use it in combinations that it feels wrong, then try using different combinations.

I'm pretty sure he means using the lead leg to kick with, weather it be right or left.
