    Glenn Jacobs: Shoot fighter?

So I'm browsing around youtube, looking up various pro wrestling vids....I mean, I was browsing around youtube trying to find vids of Pancrase/old school Japanese MMA, not that fake stuff, because I like real fighting, not soap opera with chair shots, really....and I stumble across THIS vid:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1E-DNcEMG0

The big guy is Glenn Jacobs, whom you may or may not know as World Wrestling Entertainment Superstar Kane. My question is...Is this a real fight? And if it is, does anyone know anything about Jacob's where and who Jacobs learned catch wrestling/shoot fighting from?

Okay so this is most likely a work then. Although Ken Shamrock says he learned all his submissions from there (source: Beyond the Lions Den) so who knows.

Given that he suplexed his way out of an armbar, I'm going to go with yeah, it's a work.

Obvious work, but kind of funny to see what would eventually become "Kane" with hair and a goatee.

I don't see what part of that looked at all real.

You did NOT just bust out the "It's Still Real to Me, Damnit!" guy. (There's another clip that shows Terry Funk's face when the guy says that, "The Funkers" expression is priceless)

And none of the moves in that Kane match were any wilder than THIS:

Most of the grappling I know comes from Bart Vale who learned from Fujiwara who learned from Karl Gotch.

The fights are worked. The technique is mostly real.

I think I understand...it's sort of like professional boxing then!

On a serious note, I have a buddy in Florida that wants to train at one of Bart Vale's schools there. Good investment? I ask because there was an article on Vale in Black Belt magazine this month, and some of the moves he was showing were...ummm...yeah....
