double-end plus slip bag?

I'm thinking of getting a double-ended bag for my garage to go along with the slip bag. Is this overkill or do you think I could get some use out of having both?

You can use the double end bag as a slip bag

Have you been properly trained in how to use a double end bag? If not, don't waste your money. Same goes for the slip bag. Training with these things might seem obvious but if you're not doing it right, you're not going to get much out of it.

Dumb me didn't think about unhooking the bottom strap. My old instructor had me use the double end a few times. Mostly it was speed bag, reflex, and the heavy. But while I'm having to train alone I thought this would be a good addition. Thanks for the replies.

I put up a double end bag in my garage a few months ago. Getting the height and tension right was the most critical thing (and not over inflating the bag). I have it set so that my punches are going slightly upwards and there is enough slack that the bag can hit me on the rebound. I had a lot of trouble using it at first (due to general lack of athletic ability) but after doing it almost every other day for a few months I am wearing the thing out. If anyone can post a vid of themselves working the DE bag I would love to pick up some tips.

PJ, you're on point. That was exactly the kind of vid I need to see. Actually, that looked pretty much like what I've been doing, that guy is a lot more fluid and keeps himself tighter than I do, I'll have to work on that. It's good to know that I'm not completely off base.
