chest feeling funny after gym
for the past month or so whenever im at the gym and im doing my last reps on the bench press or dumbbell flys or dumbbell lateral raises i get this funny feeling in the center of my chest. its not a painful feeling, its kinda like a nervous or excited feeling. it only happens on those exercises and doesnt change when im running or doing say lateral pulldowns.
the feeling resonates for a few days then when it goes away i go back to gym and it comes back. im pretty sure ive done something to my muscles of my chest. anyone ever heard of something like this before? im gonna see a doctor on monday but im bummed because i really wanted to start boxing this week but now im not sure if i should. im kinda stuck between doing boxing or bjj or judo.
btw im 72kg, 23 years old, and i was benching 40kg (i think thats how it works, 15kg on each side + the 10kg bar)
any help would be appreciated. thanks.
I'd be tempted to rest it (past the cycle of "a few days and then it comes back"), and see a doctor if it hasn't improved.
The key theme was seek professional advice... ;-)
See the doctor. But I suspect it's simply a case of your sternum getting compressed/streched. It's happened to me from lifting and also after rolling in BJJ.
Yup, that'll be it. Not dangerous really, but fuckin annoying... tell us what the doc advises.

That really happens? Mine popped a couple times, settled fine every time though...
Well, lucky me I guess :5propelle
Maybe an alien will pop up (like in Ripley's)... or a **** weasle.

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris
went in yesterday to the docs but found out he will be gone for two weeks so i had to make an appointment on the 27th.
anyway yeah i will be taking a rest for a month, though ill probably still do some running just to stay fit ill stay away from weights.
thanks for the advice everyone.
yeah massage. I'm long overdue, a broken down wagon of pain, if you will.
