    Looking For Some MMA Experience

I am highly curious as to how MMA would play out for me, given that I do Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu.

I've been watching the Human Weapon episode on MMA, and it seems interesting. However, it seems like there are some rules for it (a completely alien concept in Bujinkan, rules...), and there are some forbidden moves.

I've been taught to destroy fingers, split palms in two, break elbows, gouge eyes, break spines, and break knees. Would these moves be allowed in the ring (some of them I realize are outright obvious, since I've not heard of MMA fighters getting the rest of their lives destroyed on a frequent basis)?

Also, I live in freakin' Indiana. I'm surrounded by corn(!!!). Anyone know a good MMA training ground near Indianapolis?

Have you actually split palms in two, or broken a spine?

No. In training we have a system of "tapping out". Most of us don't tap until we reach the breaking point, since we are told that "every move should be a lesson in anatomy".

I, too, am curious to see how your 'unrestricted' style works in the Sports Polygon.

Yeah. I've only seen Jason Chambers (MMA fighter) on Human Weapon get destroyed by Krav Maga practitioners (Krav Maga is also an 'unrestricted' style like Bujinkan, although we are civilians, so we require good judgement in determining what we are prepared to do, unlike soldiers in the battlefield who pretty much have the license to kill unless they are on peacekeeping missions).

Yes...? I really wanna give MMA a shot. Bujinkan may be an "unrestricted" style, just the way I like it, but there's nothing stopping me from learning whatever MMA has to offer. If learning MMA gives me that slight edge in surviving a future altercation, I'll give it a shot.

I've transitioned from sport martial arts to battlefield martial arts, and now I wanna remind myself what sport martial arts has to offer again.

Well, historically ninjering did not fair well in the UFC.

West Lafayette to be precise. The site does not list schools from there. :(
