I couldn t say if they re good or not, because i m a part of it lol
We dont have much open competitions here, and sometimes when there is rules are a big limitation...
One of us used to fight in savate, i did some kyokushin and some inter schools fights, the others just go to other schools and test the instructor after class, or we just all meet in the week ends in parks and go at it (then we have a drink lol)
I also organized in my own school a little open tournament with "supersafe" helmets (the same as they use in daido juku karate), which was a good way to have fun and have a party after it.
But WT doesnt work in most competitions, because of the rules (i mean "different game")...
as an example, i can suck at kyokushin if i try to spar kyoku style against another kyokushin fighter, and the kyoku fighter can suck at a WT sparring (not chi sao or lat sao), because the game is different.
I dont pretend to be a fighter (sport), but WT worked fine with me when it was time for me to use it in the street...except in a strip club in america (portland) where i just avoided purely and simply the fight because the guy was just HUGE (his right pec was twice the size of my hand).. -

Where do you practice?
I know WT/VT/WC schools lack sparring sessions , but not because of the martial arts, but because of people who practice it.
People in kung fu want to learn (especially WT) to fight without effort or getting hit once, which is just impossible and wrong...i mean you know in a fight you re gonna take some hits, and better be prepared for it. We in our school pretty much all have a muay thai/savate or judo background, we know what happens.... -
