i don't think i could ever be skilled enough to consider a round kick as a primary offensive weapon... (Adrenaline makes my legs feel like 10,000 lbs... and my balance isn't all there)
nor do i feel i'll ever be in a scrap that starts at kick range...
(I've only ever defended myself in "crowded" places... bars, clubs)
If you can pull it off, more power to you.
(i'll stick to asking, "Let me buy you a dri..." and throw a right hook with all my weight behind it... with both of my legs on the ground.)

One of the things I do believe is that a good base is required for standup fighting. Attack that base, and if it's a poor one, the other person is likely to go down hard. If it's a good base, weaken it, making life easier.
