i actually would. and i wrestled in highschool.
in a large part of the country, you just don't get a chance to compete very much if you're JV. you'll get to wrestle at a meet if the other team has guys near your weight or if someone on your team around your weight can't make it. you'll compete if you decide to go out of your way to the more open meet ups that some schools occasionally hold.
other than that, there's a paucity of competitions open to jv guys. which is used as a spur to make jv wrestlers work that much harder and therefore get better so they can challenge for the spot. -

There would be a strong possiblity of him only having wrestled a few times, devaluing the status of being undefeated. It's like that thread i read here sometime ago about a guy who was second in some sort of world tourney and he never won a match. Sure he's reckonized as the second best whatever but what's the point of bragging about something like that?Last edited by akuma25; 10/31/2007 7:45pm at . Reason: clarification

in terms of the wrestling I'd like to a little bit more about where around DC he is, as virginia is usually fairly strong, and a jv record there would probably have almost as many matches as a varsity one, and might be somewhat respectable(though there is usually a noticable gap between the skills of a varsity versus a jv wrestler), DC itself and maryland not so much, they tend to be much weaker, and have a smaller number of wrestlers on all levels, and # of competitions for lower levels.
