    How many calories does BJJ burn?

    I'm starting on a new diet this week. Just wanted to get an idea of how many calories I'm burning here. Although I notice that there's 3 particular phases with my jiujitsu classes. Each one being different. Anybody have a rough idea how many calories each one of these is burning so I can factor it into my counting?

    1. Calisthenics (typical aerobic workout)
    2. Technique (maybe equivalent to standing all day?)
    3. Rolling (cuz even 5 minutes of this can be exhausting)

    BJJ doesn't burn calories. It makes calories submit.

    How many calories does running burn?

    Its impossible to answer your question without alot of variables being explained.

    that's really dependant on your size and effort level. You could probably coast through a class and hardly work up a sweat or go balls out and triple that.


    OP - consider all the activity to be light (like an easy jog) and you won't go over whatever limits your considering. if you're dropping weight too fast, eat a bit more good stuff.

    haha...i was using bowling vs. kickboxing...

    Competitve professional type bowling, one on one (no sitting) 400 per hour
    Martial arts, Tai Chi, or Karate (no rest breaks) 345 for 1 hour
