    Smoking

Im a non-smoker, but my fellow tenants (neighbors) are, obviously constant chainsmokers. I respectr people's rights to smoke, but this ****'s getting to the point where Im about ready to start spraying them in the face with air freshener. I come home after training, and it already smells like stale smoke. I wake up after working night shift, again, stale smoke. You can hear my neighbor directly downstairs and the one across from her hacking up lung butter and its to the point where my throat feels like hell from just WAKING UP. Being in Ohio, I know the law prevents them from smoking in many places, and I don't like to stir **** but it's fucking ridiculous. The reason why I complain: we have balconies. Big huge balconies where they can easily go outside and smoke. I recently quit smoking (and it wasnt that hard, being that apparently Im still getting as much nicotine now that I did when I was an actual smoker), and when I DID smoke, I always went outside so that my clothes and my neighbors place didn't smell like a bar. Now these two bullseyes (their boyfriends are loud and obnoxious and I wanan use them for punching dummies) moved in and it's quite annoying.

Anyone have any advice as to how to present this to my landlord? Or am I basically fucked? It's been happening for a few months now and honestly, I really don't wanna have any more throat problems.

I'd say you're fucked unless the lease says you can't smoke in the building.

Have you called into them and asked them about possibly smoking on the balconies, hopefully they might be reasonable people and oblige you.

sadly they are allowed to smoke in their own homes, that hasn't been outlawed.. yet. I'm hoping twinkies are next, but the nanny state that is the US will probably ban smoking first.

If its an apartment building the landlord can ban smoking indoors. I would just ask the landlord if smoking is allowed indoors, if it's not I guess you are screwed.

This sounds like the best option. Every smoker in my building smokes on the balcony or fire escape as far as I'm aware. Just ask them to use the balcony.
