Why not put a towel around your neck and then just use normal bands?

Maybe I'm just a cheap bastard.

There is only so much you can improve on hand speed.
A persons natural speed is pretty much set, you really can't imporve that much.
But some is better than nothing.
Boxing coaches always say that you have to be born with punching power, and they are right, either you have it or you dont. What you can do is try to increase what you do have.
Just realise that it might not be much of an increase.

    THANK YOU!!!!
I was trying to find that one!

I've also seen a model where the straps come out from the sides, I guess for body shots.

Thats utter horseshit , and I laugh every time that I hear a Boxing Expert say it .

You CAN teach ppl to hit MUCH harder than they do .

Boxing just dosent happen to be a style that has this Type of training .

Hmmm. Nice idea, Kismasher. I really need to improve my jab. It is weak as ****.

Anyone have suggestions for gaining more power with the jab?
    Footwork...
Normally, I'd say I was grappling, but I was taking down and mounting people, and JFS has kindly informed us that takedowns and being mounted are neither grappling nor anti grappling, so I'm not sure what the **** I was doing. Maybe schroedinger's sparring, where it's neither grappling nor anti-grappling until somoene observes it and collapses the waveform, and then I RNC a cat to death.----fatherdog

I seriously doubt that is true.

Your power can be increased with polymetric training, weight training and bag work. That should increase your pre-training levels significantly.

How much do you think it may be possible to increase punching power?
And what are you increaseing? Speed? weight?

    Here is a point:
You say that striking power can be improved, and I agree with you, only to an extent.
But, how do you prove or conclude that punching power has been improved?
How do you test it? how do you know?
To improve speed in the 100 meters you can see by the results.
Weight lifting same thing, you can tell by an INCREASE in weight lifted.
Shot put, and INCREASE in distance.
    But punching, how?
Increase speed? That is only PART of the equation.
Increase mass? how do you know speed was not compremised?
Increase muscular strentgh? how do you know it translates to impact force?
You need to be able to evaluate progression, till then you are only speculating, no?
    Science needs proof.
Fact is, punching power, like speed is genetic, can it be improved? yes, to what extent has yet to be determined.
