• Awarded Doctorate of Martial Sciences by Dr Mohsen Ahmadi Chancellor of FIMA Martial Arts University
• Batchelors Degree in Sports Development from University of Portsmouth
• Lecturer in Martial Arts at University of Portsmouth

EDIT: Did a search for FIMA Martial Arts University. All I came up with was http://www.fimamartialarts.co.uk/ which has no mention of a University, and which has a dead link to its instructors page. I have found references to an http://www.fimauniversity.com/ but that's a dead link. Archive.org turns up some information that looks to be just as much Bullshido as Vambudo.

   Mike first started competing back in 1982 in Judo, won his first title in 1983, since then Mike has competed at Judo tournaments, Karate tournaments, Taekwondo tournament and on the freestyle circuit. Mike is one of the few Instructors/Coaches who had competed at Semi Contact, Light Continuous, Groundfighting, Light Continuous, Forms and Breaking in competitions around the UK.
   
   Mike is also a part-time lecturer in Martial Arts Studies at the University of Portsmouth, World President of Four Associations and Vice President of the International Taekwondo Association (Pakistan).
   
   All the Stormtroopers Squad members are respectful for his knowledge and expertise and many of them state that their efforts are due to his enthusiasm and continuing to compete himself and show by example, he is well respected by many instructors on the tournament circuit.

   In the Under 16's Advanced Korean Forms Stormtrooper Squad Member Vicky Wemyss performed Yook Jang form utilising her excellent kicking skills to take 1st place and 1000pts, and in the Adult Korean Forms IMA & KKAF Chief Instructor Mike Vamplew performed Koryo Form scoring an impressive 8.2, 8.1, 8.0 to take 1st place and 1000pts, so well done to the forms competitors.

People choose some weird names for their "New MA Systems", but did any one notice he was [supposedly] promoting himself 1 rank every three years and then from 2004-05 in one year he went from 5th to 10th. Classy, very classy

Great find! I wonder why he "forgot" to put his Judo experience on his Vambudo page-- he doesn't mention Judo at all, and certainly doesn't have that 1983 title listed amongst his "Noteable Achievements."

What covited title could he possibly have won after only training in Judo for 1 year? Certainly not the Judo world cup or the olympics. Perhaps the peewee white belt tourni. and he was the only person to show up in his division.

And, with some further reading of the website, it looks as if it is a front for a good old boys website. "You know, you slap my back, I'll slap yours!" For a fee of course!

Wow, name a art after yourself, and then promote yourself to Grand Soke Doctor 10th Degree. Why did I not think of this? And hey, why not involve a few people from overseas (read third world countries) in on the deal? Harder to check on the certs that way!

Is this gig that transparent or what? How in the hell does this joker sleep at night? Or perhaps he's a vampire?

1: A dojo where you can learn from a bunch of robot draculas

or

2: an overly involved White Wolf gamer attempting to create the same
