All Army Combatives Championship 2007

Hey guys.

I'm back down at Benning for the All Army. Turnout is good but smaller than last year due to the deployments. The skill level is up form last year and we have more and more better fighters.

This year I cut to the lightheavy category and had to THE best fighter at the event, and the champ 2 yrs running. Tim Kennedy is a great guy and a great fighter, glad he's on our side. I lost to him in the prelims and had to fight my way back up the bracket. I fight tomorrow for 3 and 4 place in the MMA matches. I won all my other matches, save the one against Tim, via submission (Ankle locks and armbar) I had to fight two Pancrase matches back to back against some tough guys but still got the submission. So now, like last year, I have shower, go eat, and get to bed while everyone else gets to party. :cry: I will post tomorrow how I do, at least I'm not giving up a 108lbs like last year.

Oh BTW,

Look out for coverage of the event on the Military/Discovery channel. I got interviewed 3 times after my fights so hopefully I get some face time. Sorry couldn't plug Bullshido because this is strictly an Army event.

Sweet. I'd like to enter next year. I'm AGR; do you get many Reserve and National Guard Soldiers? Do you have to be certified at a certain level to go? I'm level II.

Yep there are many NG and AR that have competed. You don't really need to be cert a level but you do need to have some training. The skill level has been going up and up each year. So hit the mat.
