    Hey dude straight blast works well in competition and is one reason fighters are encouraged to not move directly backwards.

    His kid and larry st clairs daughter are both absolutely ridiculous. They both do padwork rounds, and Larry's kid likes to spring in between rounds of kicking the heavy bag.......she's two years old.

    I would think the main reason no one moves directly backwards is it puts you off balance.

    I find it difficult to believe the straightblast works well with gloves on.

    He's probably seen a variation of it where the blast comes with a stream of pak sao's as well as continous straight punches, which I would imagine is harder to do with 16oz gloves.

    No...I actually think he thinks that the gloves would take away the power of the punches, which doesn't matter since it isn't supposed to be a fight-ender.

    The only guys I've seen who actually do it usually end by plum+knees and elbows.
