So I went, I learned more about competing in Judo and in competing in general. I lost, both matches. The first match I came out very slow and he took advantage and got me with a drop seio, in like the first 10 seconds of the match. It was beautiful my feet went right over my head. Second I lost to an old man, I thought I could out muscle him and fight him, once it got to the ground I didn't have the time to choke him from my guard, it got stood up too fast for me to finish. At least right now I don't have the skills to fight from my back in Judo. I should have swept him and finished from the top. If I would have done that he probably wouldn't have had the chance to drop me with an ankle pick.

I went there last year. Basically what happened was I got my ass kicked because I didn't know enough judo. I didn't go this year because I haven't been training in Judo; plus, I didn't renew my membership. I might consider going there next year because it did look like a very well run tournament.

heh...this is the 11th anniversary of me winning that tournament...
Good times. And lo, Kano looked down upon the field and saw the multitudes. Amongst them were the disciples of Uesheba who were greatly vexed at his sayings. And Kano spake: "Do not be concerned with the mote in thy neighbor's eye, when verily thou hast a massive stick in thine ass".
--Scrolls of Bujutsu: Chapter 5 vs 10-14.
