The Shock Doctor one I got was also uncomfortable. I think I may have to invest in one of those elites. I'm sick of not being able to breath well, or talk.

Shock doctor sucks.
I bit through mine. Before a few months my front teeth could meet. The bennefit of the shock doctor, at least the double ended one is that in the beginning, before you learn to keep your mouth closed, you can breath through the air hole.
But they don't stay in and you have to cut them down to fit and if you **** that up, which I do all the time, you're out $25 bucks. Buy quality and cry only once.
Glad you're getting one of the custom guards, you'll never go back to a normal mouthguard.Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible, without surrender,
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even to the dull and ignorant;
they too have their story.

although i have been really happy with my shock dr. i am thinking that it is time to get one of those custom ones, as you are the 2nd person to suggest one, and frankly it's about time i got a new mouthguard.

Shock doctor is okay I guess, but if you're going to be doing hard sparring more than once a week then it makes more sense to buy quality. You'll like it ming....

Next question, how do you take care of one of these $80 mouthguards, so it will last? If I get a MG for that much, it better last me 20 years.
