Opinion on mouthguards
So I've been using the old $2 boil and bite mouthguards forever. Once, I bought a $10 one, but it didn't work well at all. I asked my dentist how much it would be to make a custom one for me, and it was $300! I just want one that I can breath easy with, and will fit well.
What experiences has everyone had with various mouthguards?

Brainpad mouth guard worked well for me.
I followed boiling directions and all that. I did cut/shave some pieces down because of gum irritation but I was well satisfied with it. I had many years of orthodontic work growing up so I was really concernd with teeth as well as concussions"Its not important to be strong, its just important not to be weak."

$80 gets you a custom molded guard and the mold itself so that you can always get a replacement. Plus every subsequent guard you buy from them is half-price. I'll never go back to a boil and bite. Totally worth it if you're going to be doing a lot of hard contact.
Those $2 dollar ones are pieces of **** and the cheaper boil and bites will come loose in your mouth when you get hit. I wore my custom guard through two of my fights and it served me well through a lot of sparring sessions. You have to pry it out of your mouth with a finger its such a perfect fit. For a little extra you can even get a bunch of goofy **** put on there like school logos and patterns.

they too have their story.

Shock Doc has worked well for me... I have three of them. From the $5 one to the $15 one... no shaving required and perfect fit.

Shock Doc was too big for my mouth, felt really uncomfortable...still looking for a replacement.
